but two, successful initiatives that helped create Springbrook Park and made it

In 1973, the group rescued 24 acres from the prospect of
high-density development. Their
efforts resulted in voter approval for acquisition of the property which, added
to an existing 28-acre City site, enlarged the park to its present 52 acres. ·
In 1978, an Oregonian article noted “A group that
gained nation wide attention in
2003,
the
legacy of the founding group sparked again.
New and old neighbors came together to invest their time and labor in the
preservation, maintenance and enhancement of the park.
Park needs have changed, but not the support and commitment of today’s
Friends group. Friends of Springbrook Park is a Friends
